These Subscription Terms explain how Writeout+, our optional paid membership, and coin purchases work. They are part of our Terms of Service. Writeout is free to use: Writeout+ adds optional extras on top.

Writeout+ currently includes 500 coins every month, photos and polls in your posts, no ads in your feed, and the Writeout+ badge next to your name. The free experience (writing and reading stories, the Daily Prompt, Head to Head, streaks, blogs, and messages) never needs a subscription.

The exact benefits, price, and billing period are shown before you confirm your purchase. Monthly coins are added on the 1st of each calendar month while your membership is active, and follow the coin rules in our Terms of Service. Coins you already received stay in your account if you cancel.

Writeout is in beta and changes often. Features, including Writeout+ benefits, may change, be limited, or be removed. If a benefit you paid for goes away for a long time, contact us and we will make it right in good faith, for example with a credit or a partial refund. This doesn't affect your right to cancel at any time.

Writeout+ renews automatically. You will be charged the then-current price for the next period at or shortly before the end of the current one unless you cancel first: for the App Store and Google Play, at least 24 hours before the period ends; on the web, any time before it ends. Renewal continues until you cancel.

By subscribing, you authorize us (or Apple or Google, if you subscribed in the app) to charge your payment method for each renewal.

If you subscribed in our iOS or Android app, Apple or Google bills you under their own terms, and you manage the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account.

If you subscribed on the web at writeout.co, Stripe bills the card or payment method you entered, and you manage the subscription in Settings on Writeout.

You can cancel at any time with no fee. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Writeout+ until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.

App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled in your device's subscription settings; we can't cancel them for you. Web subscriptions can be cancelled in Settings on Writeout.

Deleting your Writeout account doesn't cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in the store first.

If your account is banned for breaking our Terms or Community Rules, your Writeout+ benefits end and any unused time is forfeited without a refund, except where the law requires otherwise. Cancel any store subscription to stop future charges.

If we offer a free trial or a discounted price, its length and terms are shown before you sign up. Unless you cancel before the trial or offer ends, your subscription continues at the regular price and renews as described above. Offers are limited, can end at any time, and can't be combined unless we say so.

We may change the price of Writeout+. If the price of your renewal changes, we will tell you in advance and, where the law or the store requires it, ask you to agree. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the new price applies.

Coin packs are one-time purchases. Coins are added to your account as soon as payment is confirmed. They are a license to use inside Writeout, have no cash value, and can't be exchanged for money. Purchases made in the app go through Apple or Google; purchases on the web go through Stripe.

App Store and Google Play purchases: refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. Please request them there.

Web purchases: payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If you were charged by mistake, charged twice, or didn't receive what you paid for, email us within 30 days and we will fix it. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a web purchase; by asking us to start Writeout+ or deliver coins right away, you agree that this right ends once the benefits or coins are delivered.

Coins you have already spent are never refunded, in whole or in part, including through a store or card refund request. See the coins section of our Terms of Service.

If a payment is refunded or reversed, we may remove the coins or benefits it paid for. If those coins were already spent, we may make your coin balance negative or limit your account until it is settled.

We may update these Subscription Terms. If we make a significant change, we will tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
