Writeout is a community of writers and players. Whether you're co-writing a story, leaving a comment, or racing in a Word Duel, we want every interaction to feel welcoming and fair. This policy explains what we expect from everyone and how we keep games honest.
1. Be a good sport
Win graciously and lose gracefully — congratulate your opponent and keep banter friendly.
No harassment, hate speech, threats, slurs, or targeted abuse, in games, chat, comments, or stories.
Respect people. Disagree with ideas in a civil manner.
2. Play it straight
No cheating: don't use bots, scripts, automation, or external help to gain an unfair edge in Word Duel, Hidden Meanings, or any game.
Don't exploit bugs or manipulate ratings, streaks, leaderboards, coins, gems, or tips.
No smurfing, account sharing, sandbagging, or deliberately throwing matches.
One person, one account — don't create multiple accounts to farm rewards or dodge bans.
3. Practice bots
Some opponents are official Writeout bots — clearly marked with a robot badge. They're there so you can warm up and practice anytime. Bot matches are rated like normal so you can track progress; bots never read your private content and aren't real people.
4. Tips, coins & rewards
Tipping a writer is a genuine thank-you — never solicit, pressure, or trade tips for favours.
Don't use rewards, gifting, or purchases to harass others or circumvent these rules.
5. Keep stories safe
Creative writing can explore mature themes, but no sexual content involving minors, real-world threats, or content that violates our Terms.
In group stories, collaborate in good faith — don't hijack, vandalize, or derail other writers' work.
6. Reporting & enforcement
See something off? Use the report option on profiles, stories, comments, and players.
Our moderation team reviews reports and may warn, mute, suspend, or ban accounts, and adjust ratings or remove content.
Serious or repeated violations can result in a permanent ban.
